How did you get involved in theatre?

I used to dance and sing around the house when I was a little kid. I loved performing for my family, they were my first fans. I first learnt to dance when I was about 7 years old and joined the choir at St Peters school.  I learnt singing and then the whole world of Musical theatre opened up for me.  In 2017 I played the role of Gavroche in Rockhampton Musical Union’s 2017 production of Les Miserable. What an amazing experience, performing with Rockhampton’s incredible talent.

My next big role was Bud Frump in TCC’s 2019 production How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. What a laugh he was! Very mean but very funny.

What do you love about your character Gomez?

I love playing the character of Gomez as he is very flamboyant, he loves life, and he loves and adores his wife and family!  I researched it and watched the Broadway production starring Nathan Lane from whom I drew a lot of inspiration.

How have rehearsals been going?

Rehearsals have been so much fun. It has been very rewarding to see the progression of how it has come together.  From the leads, to the cast, to the band joining us. We now have a great show.

What has been the best part?

The songs are absolutely amazing!  I love them. There are some very emotional songs that tear at your heartstrings, and then there are others that are so upbeat and full of life. It’s a real rollercoaster, full of contrast.

What do you think people will enjoy about the show?

I think people will enjoy the message behind the of the Show, it’s a real love story about family and how love conquers all!

What are you favourite scenes?

My favourite scene is Secrets and I think the audience will love this too. Shannon who plays Morticia is astounding in this.  The dance number is amazing!  My favourite song is Happy Sad.  This is when Gomez tells Wednesday his daughter that everything is going to be ok, and love will prevail and win the day.
