Our hearts are full with gratitude for the incredible gift of the Senior Class of 2025 - these young men and women are educated, compassionate and ready to pursue their dreams, unfolding  the next exciting chapters of their lives as they continue to live life in all its fullness.

Last week we farewelled our Seniors celebrating with Mass in our sacred space, St Joseph’s Cathedral presided by Bishop Michael McCarthy, together with Fr Alex and Fr Samuel. The College is grateful for their presence and spiritual support and guidance of our Seniors throughout their time here at TCC.

Bishop Michael’s encouraged students to continue their journey in faith.

“This sacred space, our Cathedral, is the best Cathedral in the world, not for the beautiful stained-glass windows, stations of the cross, or high arching structures, but because of you – you are the living stones of our Cathedral, of our church” he said.

Many of our Seniors sported fresh new haircuts from the recent Rock the Chop for Queensland Cancer Council raising over $38,000 - a visual reminder of the depth of their care and compassion for those suffering from cancer.  We hope and pray they take this sense of compassion and community with them and continue to care for those who are vulnerable and who need a helping hand when times are tough.

Rock the Chop organiser and College Captain Harriet reflected on the virtue of kindness “A small act of kindness can change a moment, or a life ….  when you’re asked what you are going to be when you leave school, be kind” she said to Seniors and Parents in an overflowing Cathedral and the rest of the school gathered in the Mercy Centre.

Fellow Captain Sam, encouraged classmates to give life your best shot quoting TS Eliot, Nobel Peace Prize winner "Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far you can go," he said.

Following Mass the Parents, Teachers and the whole College community formed a guard of honour throughout the school commencing with a symbolic smoking ceremony.

As the Seniors weaved their way throughout the school tracing steps for the last time they farewelled PC classmates passing down their school ties in a touching gesture of friendship, and were lavished with friendly love and affection, - a torrents of tears, an avalanche of hugs, and a forest of flowers to send our 2025 Seniors on their way.

As the Seniors now commence their external exams, commence full-time work, traineeships and apprenticeships we pray for God’s richest blessings upon them.
