The installation of five new, competition-standard light towers has been completed and is now in use by various sporting groups at Kettle Park, with the help of funding from the Minor Infrastructure Program, in partnership with The Cathedral College and Queensland Rugby.
“Once upon a time the fields would be closed by sundown. Since the lighting’s gone in, there’s between 500 and 1,000 more participants who are able to use the field,” says Rob Alexander, Principal at The Cathedral College.
This project encourages many young people in Rockhampton the chance to do a lot more sporting wise and reach their potential.
We're proud to share this video clip from the Queensland Government website featuring the Kettle Park lighting project. There is some terrific night-time drone footage with our TCC teams training under the lights, all made possible through a partnership with Queensland Sport and Recreation, Rockhampton Regional Council, The Cathedral College and Queensland Rugby League.
